Are you planning a trip to Disney with your large family or group? Walt Disney World is a great place to travel with a large group, as it has something for everyone in the family.

The little ones in the family will love meeting their favorite Disney character, the kids and teens will love the exciting rides and attractions and adults will love hanging the pools with a fun Disney-themed cocktail and relaxing.

Why Should You Stay at a Disney Resort With Your Large Family and Group?

Staying at a Disney Resort offers many perks to guests, but when you are traveling with a large family or group, those perks can really help make the trip smoother. It can be hard to transport and room large parties and Disney does a great job working with guests to accommodate and make their vacation magical.

Here are some of the perks of staying at a Disney Resort:

  • Free Transportation Across Disney Property
  • Complementary Parking at Disney Parks
  • Recreation Activities at Each Resort
  • Extra Magic Hours and Early Entry into the Disney Parks
  • Early Access to Genie + Lightning Lane and Individual Lightning Lanes
  • Disney Dining Options at your Resort
  • Close Proximity to Disney Parks
  • Early Access to Dining Reservations

Before heading to Disney with your large party, one of the most significant decisions your group will have to decide is “where should we stay?” Most Disney Resort rooms sleep 4 to 5 guests, but there are many great choices for larger parties to choose from. Whether your group is looking for a cabin to stay in together, a large family suite, or even a bungalow, Disney has many great options perfect for large families and groups.

Before planning your large family vacation, take a look at some of the best options for large families and groups while staying at Walt Disney World!

Disney’s Dolphin Presidential Suite

If you follow our blog, or are a part of the largest Swan, Dolphin, Swan Reserve Facebook Groups, this resort is our favorite, and it’s our dream to stay in the Presidential two story suite at the Dolphin resort. Rumor is, this is where celebrities like Michael Jackson would stay when he would come to EPCOT (remember the Captain EO attraction?).

This suite features a grand piano and can sleep 16 folks. However understand with this large room doesn’t come cheap, ranking in at over $3k a night! And for those Marriott members thinking they might get an upgrade, guess again, I’ve begged, pleaded, and asked with whip cream for a complimentary upgrade, it hasn’t happened yet.

So we will just have to hit the lottery to stay in this room, considering there is only one.

If you are ready for a magical vacation with your large family or group, Disney has many great options for you to choose from. They have spacious villas multiple families can share or family suite options to help keep your cost down.

If you plan to spend more than a few days on vacation, it may be worth it to splurge and go for the moderate or deluxe room. If you are traveling down for a quick trip or know you won’t be using your room much, save some money and opt for the budget-friendly option.

You can save a few hundred dollars a night staying at a value resort, and that money can be put towards Disney Tickets or dining.
