Gran Destino Tower

The Tower at Coronado Springs Resort is a 15-story tower complex that offers a range of beautiful Coronado Springs Resort rooms with breathtaking views. If you want a spectacular view of the pool or lake, opt for the “Water View” room.

For a calmer and more relaxing view, the “Standard View” room features views of the courtyard, landscaping, or parking areas. Guests who choose a Tower Club Access room will also enjoy all the exclusive club level amenities, making their stay even more special.

Apart from the stunning views and club level perks, the Tower rooms also boast modern comforts and conveniences such as air conditioning, a ceiling fan, a safe, and a desk. These rooms provide a luxurious retreat after a long day of exploring the parks or attending meetings at the convention center.

The Gran Destino Tower is one of my favorite places to stay on property. It is categorized as a Moderate, but it feels more like a Deluxe Resort.

What does Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort smell like?

The unique scent that fills the lobby of Disney Coronado Springs is called Hibiscus Passion, which combines the spirit of Spanish exploration with Disney’s creative tradition. This enchanting aroma creates a captivating atmosphere that is both exotic and familiar, setting the stage for an adventure-filled stay at the resort.

El Mercado de Coronado

The quick service restaurant is a food court option is called El Mercado de Coronado at Coronado Springs Resort. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner for about $15-$35 per person. You can find both American and Mexican food at this food court. This is one of my favorite quick service food courts at any Disney Resort and is much better than the value resort food courts!

Microwaves, plastic silverware, or refillable mugs locations can be found in the El Mercado de Coronado formerly known as the Pepper Market.

Cafe Rix

If you are looking for coffee and pastries for breakfast, head over to the quick service cafe. They also offer yogurt, salads, fruit, and smoothies for a grab and go breakfast or lunch until 12:30pm. You can find Cafe Rix just outside of the El Mercado de Coronado.

Three Bridges Bar and Grill at Villa del Lago

Enjoy Spanish-American cuisine for dinner at the Three Bridges Bar and Grill. This is a table-service restaurant, but does not do reservations. Guests can enjoy a beautiful view for about $14-$35 per person.

They even have a Sangria University that can be scheduled in advance. See about the availability during your visit by going to the website, or trying the My Disney Experience App.

Toledo

This table service restaurant has tapas, steak & seafood options. Diners can enjoy this rooftop restaurant for about $35-$60 per person. It’s a great idea to make reservations ahead of time if you want to enjoy dinner at Toledo.

We didn’t get a chance to try Toledo, but that bar just looks amazing.  We did relax here during the day, but they didn’t open until the afternoon when we had plans in a park.

Private Dining Options are also available.

Maya Grill

Another table service restaurant offering Mexican cuisine for dinner for about $15-$35 per person. Maya Grill does accept reservations ahead of time.

Rix Sports Bar & Grill

Rix Sports Bar is another table service restaurant that you may want to make reservations for. We typically can also walk-in to this restaurant as well. Guests can find American sports type food for about $15 to $35 per person for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Tips for Staying at Coronado Springs

  • To make the most of your stay at Coronado Springs Resort, it’s essential to plan and pack accordingly. Be sure to bring sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes to ensure a pleasant experience throughout your vacation.
  • When budgeting for your stay, consider taking advantage of the resort’s on-site amenities, such as the health club, salon, and laundry services. Additionally, opting for a preferred room may provide better views and closer proximity to El Centro, the resort’s main hub.
  • As for transportation, guests can utilize the free Disney bus service or rent a car or scooter to explore the area. With these tips in mind, you’ll be well-prepared for an unforgettable stay at Coronado Springs Resort.
  • My husband and I stayed in the new Gran Destino Tower on our last visit, with a king bed. We did book this room type, instead of taking a chance on an upgrade from two queen beds.
  • I was absolutely stunned by the level of quality this resort offered. I loved the tile used in the toilet area with the heavy wooden sliding door instead of the curtain you find at value resorts.

Is Coronado Springs the Best Moderate Resort?

Coronado Springs though also kid friendly, is the best Moderate resort for adults. There are many activities, amenties, and bars for adults to enjoy on vacation. These include the jogging trail, Spa, Fitness Center, Bars, Lounges, Convention Center, Business Center, and so much more.

This resort does not have the same ‘Disney feel’ many are looking for when booking a Disney Resort. It is still an enjoyable resort experience for families and adults alike and wouldn’t be a bad choice when looking at the Disney hotels.

Coronado Springs vs. Port Orleans Disney World Resort Guide

When comparing Coronado Springs and Port Orleans Disney World Resorts, there are several factors to consider. Both resorts offer unique accommodations, dining options, and recreational activities, but there are some key differences in terms of location, atmosphere, and layout.

Coronado Springs is located in the Epcot Resort Area and offers more food and price options than Port Orleans, which is situated in the Downtown Disney Area. Additionally, Coronado Springs boasts a more beautiful setting and a smaller footprint with an internal bus system, making it more convenient for guests to get around.

Both resorts offer a hot tub, close to the main pool. I found Coronado Springs hot tubs to be some of the largest hot tubs on Disney property. As such it attracted a lot of people enjoying beverages, and this was a little outside my comfort zone when it was college spring break.

If you’re looking for more pool time, and enjoying the quiet pools, they are located throughout the resort away from the main building. Each section of both resorts offers a quiet pool area, and it’s usually located near the laundry rooms for each resort.

Ultimately, the choice between Coronado Springs and Port Orleans will depend on your preferences and priorities.  I will give it to Port Orleans for access to the boat ride to Disney Springs along with the delicious Beignets that you can get at Port Orleans French Quarter.

When I want an elevated experience over staying at any of the value resorts, I will pick either Coronado Springs or Port Orleans. Both are wonderful resort hotels that offer great Disney experiences.

Caribbean Beach vs. Coronado Springs Resort

In comparing Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs Resorts, there are several aspects to consider. Both resorts offer a variety of accommodations, dining options, and recreational activities, but there are some notable differences in terms of pricing, amenities, and overall atmosphere.

Coronado Springs Resort is generally pricier than Caribbean Beach, but it offers more amenities, such as better dining options and a more picturesque setting. Additionally, Coronado Springs has its own internal bus system, making it more convenient for guests to get around the resort.

On the other hand, Caribbean Beach is usually cheaper and larger than Coronado Springs, providing more space for guests to explore and enjoy. I love the fact I could walk to the Riveria Resort, or simply jump on Disney’s Skyliner to get to Hollywood Studios or EPCOT.

Ultimately, the choice between Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs will depend on your personal preferences and budget. To me the ability to get to two parks quickly without taking a bus makes Caribbean Beach a clear winner.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort offers a unique blend of luxury, convenience, and Disney magic for guests of all ages. With its prime location near popular theme parks, a wide range of accommodations, and an array of dining and recreational options, there’s something for everyone at this beautiful lakeside oasis.
