Most Exhilarating Rides at Walt Disney World

When people think of Disney, they often think of the family-friendly attractions that the parks are so well known for. However, the four Walt Disney World theme parks are packed with exhilarating attractions for thrill-seekers of all ages. Today we’re going to share with you the most exciting rides you’ll find in each park which you won’t want to miss on your next trip.

Magic Kingdom

Space Mountain

In Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom, you’ll find one of the most exciting rides in this park. As one of the three mountains in the Magic Kingdom, you’ll head into the darkness on a journey filled with twists and turns. Thanks to the low-level ride vehicle, you feel the motion of this ride even more than you might otherwise do, making it one of our top picks for anyone looking for something a little wackier in the Magic Kingdom.

Splash Mountain

On a hot day in the middle of summer, there’s no better way to cool down than by taking a trip on Splash Mountain. Don’t let the relaxed nature and the singing creatures at the start of the ride fool you – you’re in for a great time on that final drop! The ride uses a whopping 950,000 gallons of water and has three dips and a five-story drop towards the end. Sit in the front if you want to get soaked on the ride.

Epcot

Mission: SPACE

If you’ve got a strong stomach, head over to Mission: SPACE, a space-themed simulator that will make you feel like your blasting off to explore space. If you are looking to experience the most thrills, make sure you choose the Orange Mission, which includes G-forces during the spacecraft launch and spins and tilts. You’ll feel like you are right there with the astronauts heading into space. For anyone who struggles with motion sickness, the Green Mission offers a slightly gentler ride but can still be quite intense.

Soarin’ Around the World

As one of the most popular rides in Epcot, Soarin’ Around the World takes you up into the sky to explore the incredible world around us. You’ll see, smell, feel, and hear some of the world’s most famous sites, such as the Eiffel Tower and Sydney Harbour. In just a few short minutes, you’ll take a complete trip around the world thanks to the 180-degree, 80-foot IMAX screen that’s used as part of this attraction.

Test Track

In Future World, you’ll find one of the few attractions in the park which heads outdoors. After designing your perfect vehicle design, it’s time to race against your fellow riders on the race track. You’ll put your vehicle through its paces before heading outside to race at a speed of up to 65 miles per hour. For anyone that doesn’t want to wait in line for the attraction, this ride also has a single rider line which may speed up your queue time.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith

Rollercoaster fans will love this looping coaster located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s the most exhilarating coaster on Disney property, and your ride is set to the classic tracks of the world-famous band. The coaster features one corkscrew and two rollover loops, and each vehicle is fitted with a 32,000-watt audio system.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

Head straight from your coaster ride over the road to take a drop on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. As one of the landmark attractions in the park, you can hear guests screaming as you approach this ride from miles away. While you may have experienced drop rides before, the random ride sequence of this attraction means you never know what is going to happen next. We also think the theming is some of the best in the parks, and you’ll love immersing yourself in the story before heading on the ride.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

Have you always dreamed of flying the Millennium Falcon? In this new attraction in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you’ll take on the role of either a pilot, gunner, or engineer and play your part in what will hopefully be a successful mission. This hands-on ride takes you on a thrilling journey into hyperspace that you’ll love experiencing whether you are a Star Wars fan or not.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

A list of the most exhilarating attractions in Walt Disney World wouldn’t be complete without the addition of one of the newest rides: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Make sure you get up early and secure your boarding pass, as this is one ride you won’t want to miss on your next trip. The attraction uses multiple ride systems during your adventure, making it a thrilling ride that teenagers and adults will love.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Expedition Everest

Featuring forward and backward drops, Expedition Everest is one of the most exciting rides in the park. The theming of this ride is incredible, and you’ll also enjoy amazing views over the resort. Expect high speeds, dark caves, and fast drops in this outdoor adventure that will take you through the mountains of the Himalayas.

Avatar Flight of Passage

Immerse yourself in the world of Avatar as you sit on top of a breathing banshee to take flight over Pandora. Don your 3D glasses before you take flight, where you’ll feel like you are riding on a living creature. The scenery in this ride is absolutely breathtaking, and you’ll soar and drop through the water, forests, and mountains. This is one of the most popular rides in the park, so make sure you get here first thing in the morning to secure your place in line. Even the queue is beautiful to walk through, and you’ll feel like you’ve escaped the outside world while exploring Pandora.

Dinosaur

While it’s not one of the newest rides in the park, Dinosaur is a classic ride for thrill-seekers to enjoy during a day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You’ll head back in time on a secret mission to bring an Iguanodon back to earth. However, a meteor hits, and you must race against the clock to get out safely in time. You’ll be sat aboard a Time Rover that can go at a surprising speed and will throw you back and forth and screeching around corners on your journey. Watch out for the dinosaurs on your way, which will interact with you on your ride.

Kali River Rapids

On a hot day, Kali River Rapids is a thrilling water raft ride that will get you absolutely soaked. Located in Africa, this is far from a lazy river ride. You’ll woosh down a 20-foot slope and ride through waterfalls and fires on your journey. It’s very likely you’ll be drenched on this ride, so come prepared! Don’t be deceived by the gentler scenes you may see as you approach the ride, as it’s a wild adventure for the whole family.

Which one of these rides are you most excited to head to first on your next trip? If you’ve never visited Walt Disney World, you’ll be impressed by the wide selection of rides that appeal to everyone in your family. All of these attractions are incredibly popular, so try and head straight to them first thing in the morning before lines build up for the day. Thrill-seekers will love the theming and fun that these attractions offer, and you can be sure you’ll want to ride them over and over again on your next trip.
