Hollywood Studios is a great place to meet your favorite characters from Star Wars, Toy Story, Pixar, Disney Junior, plus classic and even rare characters as well.

Meeting characters up close is one of the most magical parts of a Disney vacation no matter how old you are! There are constantly new characters being released, and even some rare characters will pop up from time to time.

If you love meeting characters on your Disney trips, then you will want to check out this guide on where to find all the characters from some of your favorite fandoms at Hollywood Studios.

What Character Shows Can you See in Hollywood Studios?

There are lots of characters that you can see at Hollywood Studios, and some that you can’t see anywhere else. This is a list of special stage shows where you can see many of your favorite characters performing.

You can not meet these characters at these shows, though some of them may be available to meet at different locations in the park.

Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage

Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage is a beautiful mini musical show that has all your favorite characters from the movie. Here you can see: Belle, Beast, Gaston, Lumière, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, Chip, Babette, and the Beast in his prince form.

Disney Junior Play and Dance

Join Doc McStuffins, Vampirina, Timon and Mickey for a high-energy musical stage celebration. They will even dance with you in the party. This is a lot of fun for young children, and a great place to cool off in the hot months.

For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration

This is another beautiful stage show with an amazing comedic cast and scenes from Frozen that you can sing along to. Here you can see: Anna, Elsa, Sven, Kristoff and Olaf.

Indiana Jones: Epic Stunt Spectacular

The Indiana Jones stunt show is a favorite for fans of the movie. This is a must see if you have never seen it before. Here you can see Indiana Jones from the movies.

Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy

Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy is a short, indoor show where you can see Lightning McQueen, Tow Mater and Cruz Ramirez.

Little Mermaid Musical Adventure

The Little Mermaid Musical Adventure will be replacing the Voyage of the Little Mermaid show. It is supposed to open sometimes in 2024, but there is not an exact date. Here you should be able to see all of your favorite characters from the movie, and some brand new designed puppetry as well.

Fantasmic

Fantasmic is an amazing nighttime spectacular with stunt shows, water and fire features, and Mickey’s SteamBoat at the end. It is full of so many characters in one spot.

Mickey Mouse as Sorcerer Mickey and Steamboat Willie Mickey, Minnie Mouse, Aladdin, Ariel, Aurora, Beast, Belle, Captain Hook, Chernabog, Chip, Dale, Cinderella, Cruella De Vil, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, Elsa, Flynn Rider, Goofy, Hades, Jafar, Jasmine, John Smith, Maleficent, Moana, Mulan, Peter Pan, Pluto, Pocahontas, Prince Charming, Prince Eric, Prince Naveen, Prince, Prince Phillip, Queen of Hearts, Rapunzel, Scar, Shang, Snow White, Tiana, Ursula, Wendy, and the Seven Dwarfs.

What Characters Can You Meet in Hollywood Studios?

This is a list of all of the characters in alphabetical order, that you can meet in Hollywood Studios and where you can meet them. Some of these characters will have an assigned photo pass photographer. For others you’ll have to ask a cast member or family member to take a photo on your phone. 

Keep in mind that this list is subject to change at any given time. Disney loves to surprise guests, especially with their Character Palooza character pop up surprises from time to time. It is always possible that you may stumble across a specific character not listed below. 

BB-8 – You can meet this adorable droid inside Star Wars Launch Bay in the Animation Courtyard. He even interacts with you!

Buzz Light Year – Buzz meets to the left of the entrance to Toy Story Land, just before the giant Woody statue.

Chewbacca – You can meet Chewbacca inside Star Wars Launch Bay in the Animation Courtyard. You can also meet him at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. He roams and also sometimes will stop with a cast member for a short line.

Chip N Dale – You can meet Chip N Dale together on Hollywood Boulevard.

Darth Vader – Darth Vader has his own meet and greet inside Star Wars Launch Bay in the Animation Courtyard. If you are a Disney Visa Card holder you can meet him in a special room with very little to no wait.

Doc Mc Stuffins – Doc Mc Stuffins has her own meet and greet location in her own themed area outside in the Animation Courtyard.

Daisy Duck – You can meet Daisy on Grand Avenue and sometimes in Minnie’s Holiday Dine at Hollywood and Vine.

Donald Duck – Donald Duck meets on Grand Avenue.

Edna Mode – Edna Mode has an amazing themed meet and greet location called the Edna Mode Experience located at Pixar Plaza.

Fancy Nancy – Fancy Nancy has her own special area outside in the Animation Courtyard.

Goofy – You can meet Goofy sometimes with Max on Grand Avenue near the entrance to Galaxy’s Edge.

Max – You can meet Max with his dad Goofy on Grand Avenue near Galaxy’s Edge.

Jessie – You can meet Jessie with Woody near Toy Story Mania in Toy Story Land.

Kylo Wren – Kylo Wren is a roaming character in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. He will come and interact with you.

Mickey Mouse – You can meet Mickey Mouse as Sorcerer Mickey at Red Carpet Dreams on Commissary Lane. You can also meet him at Minnie’s Holiday Dine seasonal character meals.

Minnie Mouse – Meet Minnie Mouse dressed in her red carpet dress at Red Carpet Dreams on Commissary Lane. She is also the host of her Holiday Dine character meals that change up seasonally with different costumes.

Mr. Incredible – Meet Mr, Incredible at Pixar Plaza on the way to Toy Story Land and near Joffrey’s Coffee.

Mrs. Incredible – You can meet Mrs. Incredible at Pixar Plaza on the way to Toy Story Land and near Joffrey’s Coffee.

Olaf – Olaf has his very own summer themed meet and greet on Echo Lake in Celebrity Spotlight.

Pluto – Pluto meets at Minnie’s Holiday Dine seasonal character dining meals.

Rey – Rey is a roaming character in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge.

Storm Troopers – The Storm Troopers are also roaming characters in Galaxy’s Edge that will stop and interact with you, especially if you are dressed in Star Wars outfits or clothes.

Sulley – You can meet Sulley in Pixar Plaza near Joffrey’s Coffee on the way to Toy Story Land.

Vampirina – Vampirina has her own themed meet and greet outside in the Animation Courtyard.

Woody – Woody meets with Jessie in Toy Story Land near Toy Story Mania.

Character Meets by Land

To make it easier to plan your day, we have broken down all of the different characters that you can meet in the specific lands and areas inside of Hollywood Studios.

Animation Courtyard

Animation Courtyard is home to the Disney Junior Play and Dance show. It is also home to the Star Wars Launch Bay. Here you can meet:

• BB-8 (inside Star Wars Launch Bay)
• Chewbacca (inside Star Wars Launch Bay)
• Darth Vader (inside Star Wars Launch Bay)
• Doc Mc Stuffins
• Fancy Nancy
• Vampirina

Commissary Lane

There are only two characters that you can meet at Commissary Lane. Located by ABC Commissary is Red Carpet Dreams. Here you can meet Mickey Mouse dressed as Sorcerer Mickey and Minnie Mouse all dolled up in her Hollywood red carpet best.

Echo Lake

Echo Lake is located to the right of Hollywood Boulevard. As you are heading towards Star Tours and Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular you can find Celebrity Spotlight near the Frozen Sing-Along Celebration.

Here you can meet Olaf in his very owned summer themed meet and greet location.

Grand Avenue

Grand Avenue is located near the entrance to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge and the Baseline Taphouse. Here are some of the characters you can meet at this location:

Hollywood Boulevard

Near the Hollywood Brown Derby you can meet Chip and Dale on Hollywood Boulevard.

Pixar Plaza

Pixar Plaza used to be called Pixar Place. It is now home to these characters from the Incredibles and Monsters Inc. The characters do change from time to time, but currently in 2024 you can meet:

• Frozone
• Mr. Incredible
• Mrs. Incredidble
• Sulley

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Galaxy’s Edge is home to your favorite Star Wars characters. Some of them you can meet in person, while others are roaming and will choose if they want to let you take a photo with them.

Toy Story Land

Toy Story Land is a wonderfully themed land that puts you right into Andy’s backyard. Here you can meet:

• Bo Peep (she does not always meet, but sometimes you can find her meeting)

• Green Army Men – they march around you can not formally meet them.
• Jessie
• Woody

Hollywood Studios Character Dining

Hollywood Studios only has one character dining location. This location is unique as there is always one breakfast, but the lunch and dinner dining changes out with the seasons. There is always an opportunity to meet the characters in different themed outfits.

Hollywood and Vine

At Hollywood and Vine in Disney World, you can dig into a delicious meal while hanging out with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and their pals in fun seasonal outfits! It’s the perfect spot to snap pics, share laughs, and make magical memories with these classic Disney characters.

Disney Junior Play and Dine Breakfast – At this breakfast buffet character dining experience you can meet some Disney junior favorite characters such as: Fancy Nancy, Vampirina, Doc McStuffins and Goofy.

Minnie’s Springtime Dine – Minnie is dolled out in her spring best and you can also meet Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Goofy and sometimes Daisy.

Minnie’s Silver Screen Dine – Meet Minnie in her red carpet dress with Mickey, Pluto, Goofy and sometimes Daisy.

Minnie’s Halloween Dine – Minnie is dressed up in a Halloween dress and you can also meet Mickey, Pluto, Goofy and sometimes Daisy.in different costumes.

Minnie’s Holiday Dine – Minnie is dressed up in a beautiful holiday dress along with Mickey, Pluto, Goofy and sometimes Daisy.

Top Tips for Meeting Characters

Here are some of our top tips for meeting characters.

• Check the My Disney Experience app for appearance times and show up early to get in line.
• We recommend getting in line 15 – 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
• Bring a sharpie or thick pen, and an autograph book to get signatures from your favorite characters.
• Bring snacks and water for waiting in lines.
• Don’t forget to ask the characters unique questions directly related to them or their movies.

What Characters Can You Meet at Special Events?

Hollywood Studios has Disney Jollywood Nights which is a special ticketed event on select night in November and December. There are special characters that you can only meet at this event. So if you see some of your favorite Disney characters on this list, you may want to attend this event!

• José Carioca or Panchito from The Three Caballeros – appearing at Animation Courtyard

• Santa Duffy – appearing at Santa’s Workshop at Grand Avenue

Do Characters Walk Around Hollywood Studios?

There are some roaming characters that will walk around Hollywood Studios. In Toy Story Land, the Green Army Men will march with drums at different times during the day around the entire land.

In Galaxy’s Edge you will see the most roaming characters like: Kylo Wren, Storm Troopers, Rey, Chewbacca and Vi Moradi.

Do You Need a Reservation to Meet Characters at Hollywood Studios?

You do not need a reservation to meet characters at Hollywood Studios, unless you are attending Minnie’s Seasonal Dining Character Meals. Then you will need to reserve your dining reservation 60 days in advance.

How Do You Know Where the Characters Are at Hollywood Studios?

Technology has made it simple to locate your favorite characters in the parks. The My Disney Experience app provides not only attraction wait times but also details on character meet-and-greets, including their appearance times.

To find characters using the app, open the Disney World app and navigate to the map page. Change the filter from “Wait Times” to “Characters.” This will give you a comprehensive list of characters, their meeting locations, and the times they’ll be available.
