What to know about Strollers at Disney World

If you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World with younger children, you might be wondering whether you need to bring your own stroller. The good news is that there are various options for those who don’t want to travel with a stroller. Today we’re going to share our complete guide to strollers at Walt Disney World to help you find the right solution for your next vacation.

What Kind Of Strollers Are Available To Rent From Disney World?

Strollers are available to rent throughout the Disney theme parks and Disney Springs. While this is certainly not the cheapest option on our list today, it can be convenient for anyone visiting for just a few days. You’ll get your stroller when you enter the park for the day, but you do need to return it before heading home or back to your resort for the night. When it comes to the types of strollers on offer, Disney offers both single and double strollers, so you can choose the option that best fits your family.

Walt Disney World Stroller Rental Costs

At the current time, a single stroller costs $15 for a day, and a double stroller is $31 per day. The single stroller is recommended for children who are less than 50 lbs, but the double stroller can hold up to 100 lbs. If you are renting a stroller at Disney Springs, keep in mind that you’ll also have to pay an additional $100 credit card deposit, which will be refunded when you return the stroller. For guests who are looking to visit the resort for a few days, we highly recommend you consider the multi-day rental to save some money. You’ll pre-pay for the number of days you need a stroller, and this drops the cost to $13 a day for a single stroller or $27 each day for a double stroller. When you visit the parks each day, you’ll just show your receipt to pick up your stroller for that day.

Where Can You Rent a Stroller From at Walt Disney World?

Each of the four theme parks offers stroller rental. When you enter the parks each day, you’ll notice a clear sign to direct you to stroller rental. You can also hire one from Disney Springs, but as we mentioned above, there is a deposit required for this rental to ensure it is returned before leaving. The strollers are only for use in the parks, so they can’t be returned to your hotel at the end of the day.

What Are Restrictions On The Type Of Strollers You Can Bring From Home?

Of course, many families bring their own strollers from home, which is something you’ll want to consider if you are driving to the resort. Check with your airline if you are flying, as you’ll need to consider if this is part of your checked-in luggage. Disney limits strollers to a maximum of 31 inches wide and 52 inches long. If you try to enter the parks with a stroller wagon, you’ll be turned away, so keep this in mind if this is your preferred type of stroller. We generally recommend opting for a lightweight and foldable stroller as this will make it easier to get on and off the buses.

Also, keep in mind you’ll have to leave your stroller outside when you head on attractions. If you have a particularly expensive stroller, think about whether you are happy to leave it unattended during your trip. Some people opt to visit Walmart or Target and buy a cheap stroller in Orlando, which they then leave at the end of their visit. This might be a more cost-friendly option if you are here for a week or two and need a stroller every day.

Are There Other Companies That You Can Rent From?

The good news is that renting a stroller directly from Disney isn’t your only option on offer. In fact, for anyone who is looking for a stroller they can take back to their resort each day, this might be the way forward. You won’t have to worry about the measurements of your stroller from home either, as all of these companies are used to supplying strollers with the intention of being used in the theme parks.

There are many local businesses in Orlando which offer a full range of strollers for you to rent. They usually deliver directly to your resort or vacation home, and this is included in the price of your rental. The biggest advantage of this option is that you have it for the entirety of your vacation. These are a few of our favorite stroller rental companies in the Orlando area.

ScooterBug

While ScooterBug is best known for its ECV and wheelchair rentals, it is also a Disney Featured Provider for strollers. They deliver your rental directly to your Walt Disney World resort, and you don’t even need to be present in order to receive your delivery. The Disney Resort Cast Member will take your delivery and also deal with the return at the end of your vacation. They recommend pre-ordering your stroller before your vacation to avoid any disappointment.

Kingdom Strollers

When you search online for the best stroller rental options in Orlando, Kingdom Strollers is consistently rated well by travelers. It’s another member of the Disney Featured Stroller program, and your stroller is delivered free to your resort or off-site hotel. The good thing about this company is that they have a great range of strollers, so you won’t have an issue finding the right size for your child. Their prices are much lower than renting each day from Disney, and you can expect a week’s rental to cost roughly $75 for a single stroller and $95 for a double stroller. They have strollers for children who are up to 70 lbs in weight, as well as special needs strollers. You may also want to consider renting a toddler bed or wooden crib for your stay, which can be delivered with your stroller.

Magic Strollers

Another Disney Featured Provider for strollers is Magic Strollers. They offer delivery to over 200 resorts, so no matter where you are staying in Orlando, they’ll be happy to come to you. While you’ll pay a fair bit for the first day of rental, after that, it can be as cheap as $3 for each extra day. We love their wide range of strollers, which are suitable for kids weighing up to 75 lbs. Free rain covers are also available on request, which is much needed at many times of the year in Orlando.

Orlando Stroller Rentals

One more company we really like is Orlando Stroller Rentals, which are also part of the Disney Featured Stroller Providers. They have the largest inventory of strollers for a private company in the whole of the US, so as you can imagine, you’ll have no trouble finding a good one for your child. Rain covers and a parent console are included with each rental, and there’s also a free cooler. They will deliver almost anywhere in the Orlando area, so you can be sure they will set you up for a hassle-free vacation.

Best Strollers For Older Kids (Age 5+)

One of the common issues we notice is when children over the age of five need a stroller. Many of these children are too heavy for the Disney strollers, but you will find some of the companies we shared above offer options for a higher weight limit. If you need to find a stroller for an older child, these are some of our favorite products on the market currently:

  • Joovy Zoom 360 Ultralight Jogging Stroller – This stroller is ideal for children who are up to 75 lbs in weight. The great thing about this stroller is that it weighs less than most jogging strollers, so it’s ideal for folding up to carry on Disney buses. It has a stylish and functional design, so it’s a worthwhile investment for partners with older kids.
  • Summer 3DLite Convenient Stroller – If you are just looking for a cheap stroller to throw away at the end of your trip, this is one of our top picks. It offers great value for money and provides many great features for users. You can quickly fold it up to hop on a bus, and you won’t be so worried about losing it due to the lower price point.
  • YIWANBA Double Stroller Urban Twin Carriage Stroller – For parents with two children to push around, consider this unique stroller. The smaller child can sit in the front, and your oldest child can sit or stand on the platform behind them.

With so many options to choose from, you’ll have no issue finding a stroller for your upcoming vacation. If you are opting to rent from a private company, pre-book your stroller rental ahead of your vacation. You can then arrange for your stroller to be there when you arrive in Orlando, so you are all set for your first day in the Disney theme parks.
