Can You Bring a Vape Into Disney World?

If you are someone who likes to vape each day, you might be wondering what the rules and regulations are surrounding vaping and smoking at Walt Disney World. While in the past, smoking was allowed more freely in areas within the parks, the rules have changed over recent years. It’s now far stricter than it was before when it comes to vaping or smoking around the resort. Keep reading to discover if you can bring your vape to Walt Disney World and where you’ll be able to use it during your vacation.

Can You Bring Vapes Into Disney Parks?

The rules and regulations surrounding smoking and vaping were changed a few years ago with the intention of helping all guests to have a more enjoyable park visitor experience. Inside the Walt Disney World theme parks, you’ll no longer find smoking areas. This is also true for the water parks and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Instead, you’ll need to use the designated smoking areas, which can be found outside of the theme parks, in the Disney resort hotels, and at Disney Springs. This change hopes to offer a more family-friendly visitor experience, and it’s something that everyone needs to abide by in order to stay within the rules of the property.

While these rules are clearly set out for smokers, vapers will also fall under the same regulations. You can’t just freely use your vape in the theme parks, and instead, you need to go into the designated smoking area. Remember, throughout the resort, you’ll find there are security guards and security cameras. You won’t be able to get away with just doing anything during your visit, as these measures are in place for the health and safety of everyone who visits the theme parks.

What Happens If You Get Caught Smoking In Disney World?

All of the Disney resorts are considered to be smoke-free, so you’ll need to follow these rules when staying in one of the on-site hotel rooms. If you do get caught smoking in your room, on the patio, or on the balcony, you can be charged between $250 and $300 for this. The fee will vary depending on the type of room you are staying in, as well as the resort category. It’s never worth the risk of trying to smoke in your room, as there are usually smoking areas not too far away.

As far as smoking in the theme parks, this could result in you getting approached by security and even removed from the park. Disney is very committed to offering its guests the best experience possible. As it’s such as family-friendly environment, smoking and vaping are not something the company will tolerate in the parks. You could risk losing your ability to enter the parks and use the theme park tickets you’ve spent a fortune on. When you arrive at the park, you agree to follow their rules throughout your day. Make sure you are aware of where you can and can’t smoke or vape so that you don’t lose out on having this precious time with your family.

Currently it’s against Disney World Park Rules to bring medical marijuana in any form into the parks. You don’t want to risk your vacation, arrest, or potentially ending up in Disney Jail!

Do They Sell Nicotine At Disney World?

If you are traveling to Walt Disney World for a week or so, no doubt you may need to restock your cigarettes or vaping device. To help guests follow the rules we’ve shared above, Disney does not sell cigarettes or other nicotine-based products in the theme parks or Disney resorts. However, you’ll find that it’s not too hard to find somewhere else nearby where you can purchase these products. You can purchase cigarettes from the Hess Express gas stations, which are located around the property. They are close to Disney Springs, the Boardwalk resort, and the Magic Kingdom.

Of course, if you have a car, you’ll have no trouble finding vape and cigarette stores across Orlando. The International Drive area is a good spot for any type of vacation supplies you may need, as it heavily caters to tourists. The main thing to keep in mind is that you will need a car to access most of these locations. Otherwise, make sure you bring what you need with you for the duration of your trip so you aren’t caught short during your time away from home. Don’t forget you might also be able to get it delivered with a groceries.

When Did the Rules Surrounding Smoking and Vaping Change?

For anyone who hasn’t been to Walt Disney World for a few years now, you may remember a time when smoking was allowed in the theme parks. In fact, there used to be designated smoking areas, which allowed guests to take a break from their busy day in the parks. Now, you need to exit the park in order to smoke, which many smokers and vapers find to be quite annoying. This ban on smoking in the theme parks went into effect on May 1, 2019. It’s a rule that is also followed in Disneyland on the west coast, and we don’t expect it to change anytime soon.

Disney is committed to looking after the health and safety of its guests. While the smoking areas used to be slightly out of the way of most guests, other visitors still complained about the smell of the smoke in a family theme park. We do not think Disney will ever reintroduce these smoking areas, as the change has been so well received by the majority of non-smoking guests in the parks.

By following the rules and regulations we shared above regarding vaping and smoking in the parks, you can be sure you remain in compliance during your trip to Walt Disney World. While it can be tempting to think you can get away with having a quick vape on your trip, this isn’t something we ever recommend doing. You risk both fines in the resorts and eviction from the theme parks, which no one wants to deal with during their vacation. Make sure you keep up to date with the Disney site in order to see any future changes to these rules and to ensure you remain in the designated smoking areas during your trip.
